Belsy

Belsy (December 23, 1984 in India; birth name Belsy Demetz) is a German-speaking singer of folk pop music and lives in South Tyrol. Initially, she performed under the stage name Belsy Khan. At the age of one, she was adopted by Erika and Raimund Demetz from Wolkenstein in Gröden and thus grew up in South Tyrol. At the age of seven, she participated in the international children's festival Zecchino d'Oro and joined the Cor di Mutons de Sëlva. In 2002, she was a guest at the open-air festival in Kastelruth after her first solo CD was released. In 2003, she represented her country at the Grand Prix der Volksmusik with the song Heimat entsteht and achieved 3rd place. A year later, she secured 2nd place at the Grand Prix der Volksmusik 2004 with the song Madre di dio, finishing behind the Ladiners.
