Volker Pfüller

The visual language of Volker Pfüller is the language of theater: in its diversity and expressiveness. He is recognized as a graphic artist, poster designer, book designer, writer, and last but not least, as a stage and costume designer. For over fifty years, he has been creating distinctive designs, often for both stage and costume. His collaboration with director and actor Alexander Lang at the Deutsches Theater in Berlin during the 1980s was legendary. 'Volker Pfüller. Lust for Images' is published on the occasion of the artist's 80th birthday and documents the versatility of his visual creations through large-format photographs of his designs for stage and costumes, theater posters, and program booklets. Contributions include writings from Friedrich Dieckmann and Stephan Dörschel, among others.
