We live in a visual culture. Today, there is an increasing reliance on visual means to understand new and complex concepts. The overwhelming popularity of infographics has become a growing standard for conveying data, concepts, and ideas. However, the visual representation of truth is not a new idea. Even God Himself used visual representations to teach His people the truth. The Tabernacle or the Temple in the Old Testament was a visual representation of humanity's estrangement from God and God's condescension towards His people. Every element of the Tabernacle was meant to represent something of humanity's betrayal of God and God's gracious response. Similarly, baptism, bread, and wine in the New Testament are visual representations of human sin and God's response to it. Even the cross was both a reality and a visual demonstration. The authors have a deep desire to convey the concepts and principles of biblical theology in a fresh, beautiful, and informative way that can be seen and immediately understood by a visual generation.
