Descriptive statistics

This manuscript is primarily aimed at sociology students who seek to understand fundamental procedures and commonly used measures of descriptive statistics. It can be said that the quantitative analysis of socially relevant data is just as inconceivable without knowledge of these procedures and measures as is the interpretation of a large portion of published social science research findings. This volume focuses on the presentation and explanation of basic statistical concepts and methods that play an important role in empirical social research. One of these concepts is that of statistical relationship (association, correlation). As indicated in the table of contents, the presentation of those procedures and measures that serve to describe bivariate data occupies the largest part of this manuscript.
