Baudynamik

The book is aimed at students and practitioners who want or need to deal with dynamics and who come into contact with dynamic tasks in civil engineering. It originated from the compulsory lecture "Baudynarnik," which I have been teaching since 1976 for students in the structural engineering program at the University of Hanover, specifically for attendees after their preliminary exams with "standard" knowledge of statics, mechanics, and mathematics. Despite these prerequisites, the vibrations of single-degree-of-freedom models and beams are discussed in detail at the outset. On one hand, they form the foundation of the subfield of dynamics addressed here, and on the other hand, experience shows that these fundamentals are not always readily available. The designation of the book as an "introduction" arose from the limitation of the content to deterministic processes and linear dynamic behavior.
