Verwendung von Mineraltrioxid-Aggregat in der Kinderzahnheilkunde

MTA materials have excellent potential for endodontic applications. Their good radiopacity makes them indispensable for certain clinical uses. PCs appear to be biocompatible and have similar technical properties to commercial MTA materials. A disadvantage of Portland cement is that it has lower radiopacity, while its main advantage lies in its very low cost. The use of expensive commercial dental MTA materials aims to replace less efficient or toxic materials. Interestingly, no information has been published regarding details that would lead to a precise distinction of the current MTA materials. The change from gray to white MTA was simply a transition from gray to white Portland cement as the base material for mixing with bismuth oxide. The occurrence of clinical discoloration after the use of MTA materials remains unresolved.
