Product details

This specialized book examines whether there are specific requirements for insurance IT in Southeast Asia. Possible causes for these specific requirements are evaluated, including both regional factors and those arising from business processes. The investigation of regional factors focuses on the infrastructure necessary for the establishment and operation of insurance IT. A comparison is made between the situation in the ASEAN5 countries and Germany. Based on selected key figures, this comparison is conducted for both urban centers and rural areas.

The analysis of the specific requirements resulting from business processes in Southeast Asia is limited to the business processes of microinsurance. In particular, the IT requirements that differ from traditional insurance are assessed. The aim of the investigations is to answer the question of whether the microinsurance sector leads to specific requirements for insurance IT. In this context, both the number of insurance customers in this sector and the role of the insurance company in the value chain, as well as any existing cooperative relationships, are considered.

As a result of the conducted investigations, the combination of regional factors with the specifics of microinsurance is evaluated. The focus is on the distribution of microinsurance in rural areas. For this purpose, the insights gained from both investigations are merged and implemented into a collaborative solution.
