Product details
The ATB is the most traditional edition series in German medieval studies. Founded in 1881 by Hermann Paul, it was supervised by leading experts, Georg Baesecke, Hugo Kuhn, Burghart Wachinger. Since 2001 the responsibility lies in the hands of Christian Kiening. The 120 or so volumes that have since been published combine exemplary proximity to the manuscript and legibility, academic work on the text and a view of academic teaching. They include acknowledged, partly annotated editions by 'classical' authors from around 1200, but also veritable editions of works (Notker der Deutsche) and ambitious new editions (Eckenlied, Heinrich von dem Türlin).
