Independent assembly law in NRW

With the North Rhine-Westphalia Assembly Act (VersG NRW), which was passed by the state parliament on 15 December 2021 and came into force on 7 January 2022, the legislature has created an independent North Rhine-Westphalian assembly law.

The law contains passages taken from the Lower Saxony Assembly Act (NVersG) and from the federal VersG, as well as new content based on the basic structure and some of the wording of the model drafts.

First explanations on the application practice

In addition to the naturally sparse case law and literature, it has already been possible to consider many questions that arise in the application of the law. Literature and case law have been incorporated into the work up to and including March 2022, and in individual cases even beyond that date.
