Scarred childhood, scarred future? A causal connection that is already called into question by the title of the book. This work of social work addresses the experiences of violence among girls in the realm of sexuality. This form of violence, along with the resulting phenomenon of self-harming behavior, is steadily increasing in Germany and is particularly evident among adolescents. The impacts are very significant: trauma, self-harming behavior, and self-harm as a field of social work are discussed, as well as the area of systemic support. However, the focus is not primarily on exploring the past, but on the question of whether healing the wounds is even possible. A representative perspective is presented on how systemic support can enable a healing future for affected girls.
