The foundational work 'Composite Bridge Construction' from the Bauwerk Edition has been updated both technically and content-wise based on the latest developments in steel construction. The two examples for structural stability verification have been completely revised and supplemented: Design of a two-span road bridge in composite construction (open cross-section with rolled beams) and Part 2: Design of a single-span railway overpass with embedded rolled beams (rolled beams in concrete). The practical examples are selected in such a way that the complete design can be followed through manual calculations. Direct references to the standard texts allow for quick and effective familiarization with the current generation of standards. The book is aimed at experienced design engineers and is intended as a tool for producing verifiable static calculations according to the Eurocodes. It is also of interest to students, as it provides a practical introduction to the preparation of structural stability verifications.
