From the 68er mothers in their quest for change, a generation of daughters has been tasked with improving the world, stopping deforestation and rearmament, having a room of their own, and being strong together. Sandra cannot forget this mission. At forty years old and as a mother of two, she has become a sort of Cassandra from Prenzlauer Berg. She sees that the ideals of her parents' generation are lost in everyday life, fading away on the playground and being absurdly undermined in the community meetings. Speaking out clearly does not seem to be a solution, yet she cannot leave either, as she enjoys her privileges. She celebrates her children's birthdays like in the past, like Pippi Longstocking, but the essence of the utopia is no longer there. And the floor-to-ceiling windows make everyday life all too transparent. At the end of Anke Stelling's novel, which is beautifully written yet bitter.
