Venus-mars

Christian Schloyer's fourth poetry collection "Venus-Mars" artfully combines dual-themed science fiction, game poetry, and linguistic acrobatics. Is it perhaps not a good idea to seek the future of humanity on Mars? The reader can navigate through a lyrical text adventure, experiencing the endgame of a capitalistically toxic patriarchy—teetering between terraforming fantasies, nightmares, and earthbound longings. Venus also revolves around the self-destruction of Homo Sapiens, experimenting with new approaches in lamentation, aiming to touch in order to forget, and engaging (disgusted by populism, patriarchy, and performance fetishism) in the linguistic and self-exploration of a non-binary gender identity. Venus and Mars lie upside down and opposite each other. Between the lines and pages, they reference one another and fight for hope: in the incomprehensible realms of art and the universe.
