With the books by Christiane Rösinger, Bernd Begemann, and Carsten Friedrichs, Ventil Verlag is launching a series that makes the texts of German musicians accessible in book form for the first time. These are the works of musicians who have shaped the local (sub)culture with their lyrics just as much as the exclusively writing profession has. This is a long-overdue recognition of extraordinary songwriters whose lyrics are not mere appendages to great music but stand on their own. Christiane Rösinger, born in 1961, moved from Baden to West Berlin in 1985, where she founded the Lassie Singers with Almut Klotz and Funny van Dannen. After their disbandment, she became the frontwoman of the band Britta. Rösinger was also one of the operators of the legendary Flittchen Bar and ran the label Flittchen Records. She has released two solo albums, several books, and composed numerous theater scores. In 2019, her first musical "Stadt unter Einfluss" premiered at Hebbel am Ufer.
