A sufficient biological diversity in nature gives our planet Earth the uniqueness that makes it so livable and represents an essential value for the ecosystem and its services to humanity. However, environmental destruction is advancing at an unimaginably alarming speed on both global and regional levels. These problems include societal changes, including ecological risks that were largely unknown to previous generations. A significant risk is posed by species extinction. The actual extinction rate of plants and animals is currently 100 to 1,000 times higher than the natural rate. This rapidly progressing reduction in species not only threatens biodiversity but also the very foundation of human life.
