From an expert's perspective, many hypotheses about the possible causes of bulimia have been circulating for a long time. However, the opinions and assumptions of those affected, who live with the disorder every day, are still not given enough attention. This book clarifies, on one hand, the complex pathology of binge-purge addiction in a theoretical section, and on the other hand, it allows us to delve deeply into the thoughts of the protagonists of this book—young women from South and North Tyrol who suffered from bulimia nervosa for years. It provides insight into their emotional and thought processes, as well as their personal speculations about why they developed bulimia.
