Five 'W's along the Moselle invite you to absolutely socially acceptable 'side trips'. Water, meadows, forests, wine, and wide views promise a varied hiking experience for all tastes. Where the Moselle separates the heights of Hunsrück and Eifel between Bernkastel-Kues and Koblenz, hikers will find ten side trips that connect art, culture, and cuisine. Whether on the 6.7-kilometer Bärensteig or the 16.6-kilometer Cochemer Ritterrunde, hikers will discover paths leading to wonderful natural experiences everywhere. In total, 20 partly ambitious and partially certified premium hiking loops wind through picturesque side valleys and over the Moselle heights. Volume 2 contains the most beautiful circular routes along the Middle and Lower Moselle. The side trips entice discoveries on both sides of the paths, enrich the hiking day with stone witnesses from Roman times and the Middle Ages, and lure with enchanted forest valleys or steep slate slopes where some of the best vines in Germany thrive. It is hardly surprising that almost all the trails invite you to cozy winemaker taverns for a concluding meal.
