Ursle / Furnier

Synopsis:
The story of the nice neighbors who just sit and settle in the living room after the party has now achieved cult status. It has been told or recited on the radio, on numerous stages, at private events. The story is called "Buumes" and comes from the story collection "Furnier" by Guy Krneta, which was awarded the Book Prize of the City of Bern in 1997 and had been out of print for some time. Now "Furnier" is available again - even expanded with previously unpublished texts by Krneta.The second text included in the new volume is the play "Ursle". This is the first time it is available in print. After its premiere in Bern, the Bernese-German play was translated into German, Dutch and English and reenacted on numerous stages in Switzerland and abroad.

Guy Krneta, born in Bern in 1964, lives as a freelance writer in Basel. He was a dramaturge at various theaters in Germany and Switzerland. Krneta has written numerous plays, for which he received, among others, the coveted Welti Prize for Drama in 2003.
