The urban area is the most important part of civilization. Civilization is the entirety of humanity. Transportation is the bridge between history and technology, city and civilization, communities and environment, military and states. Turkey is a neighboring and border country in the southeastern wing of the EU. Here too, the EU is continuously connected to the Northern European route through roads to the Far East. The EU supplies large quantities of goods from the Far East. Turkey needs to create an alternative sub-route structure for these goods flows. In this regard, the EU's transportation system is very important for Turkey. The historical position of the Mediterranean within the global trade axis is a fact. The EU pursues an intensive transportation policy on land in Western Europe and by sea in the Mediterranean region.
