Product details
In the wastewater of the photovoltaic industry, there is a significant proportion of refractory chemical oxygen demand (COD), which can hardly be reduced through aeration processes in municipal wastewater treatment plants. To avoid this and ensure degradation, methods of chemical oxidation added to the aeration process can provide a solution. This study examined the influence of ozonation on a subsequent biological treatment stage, with a primary focus on COD reduction. Two aeration plants were used in a batch operation, with one aeration plant serving as a comparison where no ozonated wastewater was introduced. To prepare the ozonated wastewater, an ozonation system was operated, where investigations into COD reduction were also conducted.
