Teaching principles are guiding principles for the design of lessons. They apply to all areas of teaching and determine the teaching-learning procedures with which content is presented and conveyed. They are thus used to plan, implement, evaluate and legitimise teaching. Ewald Kiel and the other authors introduce the principles of structuring, motivation, differentiation, illustration, creativity promotion and practice. The teaching principles are elaborated on the one hand by means of theoretical introductions and on the other hand by means of video analyses. An interactive CD with film sequences on each teaching principle is included. Various tasks are included to enable independent and self-directed learning. The theoretical introduction of the principles conveys background knowledge, deals with current research results, and provides an overview of the principles.
