International trade has increasingly regionalized over the past few decades. With the emergence of regional trade blocs, a significant portion of international trade has become the subject of regional economic integration projects. It is estimated that today more than two-thirds of global trade is accounted for by these projects. This book evaluates the experiences of some of these projects and aims to provide insights into the lessons that can be learned from their experiences. Turkey is a rising star in the region of the Near and Middle East. Since the early 1980s, it has been undergoing a radical economic and political transformation. The vision of 'zero problems with neighbors' in international relations and the economic policy reforms, along with political and economic stability in the 2000s, contributed to Turkey becoming the center of attention. In recent years, the OIC and Turkey have been seeking greater openness and cooperation. Regional integration and Turkey would serve as a valuable guide for analysts, academics, researchers, students, and policymakers in developing countries who wish to take advantage of these projects.
