Dove bean is an economically and nutritionally important legume and a significant source of protein for impoverished populations in many tropical and subtropical regions of the world. Seed-infecting fungi such as Alternaria alternata, Fusarium oxysporum, Fusarium moniliforme, Fusarium udum, Drechslera sp., Curvularia lunata, Rhizoctonia sp., Aspergillus niger, and Aspergillus flavus pose a significant threat to dove bean seeds. Recently, seed storage facilities have been facing major issues with fungal infections that cause severe losses in seed quality and quantity. Treating the seeds with biological and chemical agents promotes good seedling growth, prevents damage to the seedlings, and preserves the proteins, lipids, sugars, nutrients, and vitamins in the seeds. Therefore, seed treatment is very beneficial for the long-term storage of seeds.
