Energie, Oxidationsmittel-Antioxidationsmittel-Status und Spurenelemente bei Beetal-Ziegen

The aim of this study was to investigate oxidative stress during the postpartum period in Beetal goats depending on parity. A total of 30 goats from semi-intensive farming were divided into three groups of 10 animals each: Group A (early parity; 1-2 parity), Group B (medium parity; 3-6 parity), and Group C (late parity; over 7 parity). Blood samples were taken three weeks and one week before kidding, as well as one, two, four, and eight weeks after kidding, to determine the activity of oxidants (malondialdehyde) and antioxidants (SOD, CAT, GSH-Px, GSH, and GST, as well as trace elements, zinc, and copper). The results indicate a different metabolic response, trace elements (zinc and copper), and oxidants during the peripartum phase in Beetal goats, with goats in early parity responding first to increased metabolic and oxidative stress and also recovering first from the imbalance between oxidants and antioxidants.
