Die Musikindustrie in der Tschechischen Republik und der Slowakei

This study examined and described the music industry in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, focusing primarily on the new business models in the sector and the marketing strategies of digital music services. The objectives of the study were: 1) to find out how the music industry in the region is responding to the internet age, 2) to determine which digital music services are actually available in the region, and 3) to assess how successful the current digital music services are, as well as to identify the factors that contribute to their success and what could be changed regarding marketing strategies. During the actual investigation, several digital music services were identified, but there was also a notable absence of the most successful digital music services. Unfortunately, not a single domestic music service was deemed successful, and the findings from the actual cases resemble those from the reviewed literature from the early 2000s.
