Community-Based Livelihood Management im Zusammenhang mit Naturkatastrophen

The study describes the main livelihood groups in the area. It has been found that livelihoods are significantly affected by climatic and non-climatic changes. For example, the increased salinity of soil and water has seriously impacted all means of existence, particularly agriculture, fishing, livestock farming, and forestry. The rising frequency and intensity of natural disasters such as floods and hurricanes have made it difficult for local people to secure their livelihoods. In addition to natural factors, various anthropogenic factors continue to pose the greatest threat to farmers, fishermen, and other population groups. As a large part of the land remains fallow, wage workers are threatened by unemployment and are forced to migrate in search of work. Small business owners struggle to find regular buyers. Large companies and wealthy farmers are at less risk. However, during natural disasters such as droughts, floods, and hurricanes, this group is also at risk to some extent, as their businesses and assets can be damaged.
