Product details
An unwilling agent in Havana in the late fifties. On the desk lay two books - identical copies of Lamb's Shakespeare Tales. On a notepad, where Hawthorne presumably had made notes for their meeting, were written: 1. Salary. 2. Expenses. 3. Transmission. 4. Charles Lamb. 5. Ink. He was just about to open the Lamb when a voice said: Hands up. Arriba los manos. - Las manos, Wormold corrected. Greene lovingly portrays the character of Mr. Wormold and those of his friends and enemies. The English businessman Wormold is anything but an adventurer. He sells vacuum cleaners and wants to secure the future of his extravagant daughter. The British Secret Service is looking for agents - and it seems to him a safe source of income. But Wormold is playing with fire.
