Product details
Since 1924, Swiss Post has established itself as an important player in the promotion and collection of contemporary art in Switzerland. The foundation for this was laid by the federal resolution for the enhancement and promotion of Swiss art in 1887, and particularly by the ordinance on federal art care from 1924. With a collection of over 400 works, the Post's art collection demonstrates a far-reaching commitment to art in Switzerland that goes well beyond mere acquisitions. Since 2020, it has been divided into three core initiatives: the actual art collection, the area of art in architecture, and the event series "Art in the Periphery." In celebration of the 100th anniversary of Swiss Post's art promotion activities, this book is published. It focuses on 100 artists whose works are represented in the collection, providing biographical data and information about their works. Ten emerging talents are particularly highlighted, each presented with a portrait photo, a short interview, biography, and text about their work. This compact, carefully designed volume excellently illustrates the diversity and depth of the Swiss art scene.
