The young Pip Tyler does not know who her father is. This is by no means her only problem: she has student debt, her office job in Oakland is a dead end, she is in love with a married man, and her mother smothers her with love and secrecy. Pip does not know where and when she was born, nor does she know her mother's real name and birthday. When a German woman offers her an internship at the Sunlight Project of whistleblower Andreas Wolf, she hopes that he can help her with her search for her father through his internet journalism. She gives her mother an ultimatum: either she reveals the secret of her origins, or Pip will set off for Bolivia, where Andreas Wolf carries out his exposé under the protection of a paradisiacal mountain landscape. Shortly thereafter, she embarks on her journey. "Innocence," a pitch-black comedy about youthful idealism.
