Schattenjäger

On the banks of the Kunene, the border river between Namibia and Angola, the chief's son Kondjoura falls in love with the Himba girl Tjizire. To make her his wife, he needs her father's consent. However, her father has long abandoned the old traditions and does not want cattle as a bride price for his daughter, but money instead. Thus, Kondjoura leaves the familiar world of the Himba, falls into the clutches of swindlers, and meets the young white man Patrick Hillmann, who, like him, must fight for love. Giselher W. Hoffmann tells two love stories that delve into the conflicts between white and black, and the life stories caught between tradition and modernity.
