Product details
Chapter opener Each chapter begins with an introductory page that introduces the students to the topic. Three illustrations visualise the scope of the topic, a short introductory text paraphrases it and questions touch on the individual sub-aspects covered in the chapter. Each chapter is divided into two to four sub-chapters. The subchapters consist of self-contained subchapters ("building blocks") that cover one or two pages of the book. The building block principle opens up possibilities for selection and combination for individual lessons tailored to the respective class. The pupils are confronted with a clearly defined subject matter. Tasks open up the materials offered and provide food for thought. Method-oriented learning Subject-relevant teaching methods are suggested on method pages highlighted in green. Where the respective method is mentioned for the first time, it is described in detail for the pupils. Summary Each subchapter ends with a page "The important things in brief". Here the students can find the most important facts in a short and memorable way. This page can help with many tasks, but can also be used for repetition. Internal differentiation For internal differentiated teaching, Understanding Politics and Economics contains (+) pages (purple page header) in addition to the basic pages (blue page header), on which selected topics are taken up and studied in greater depth. Competency check Each chapter ends with two pages "Show your competencies!". Here the pupils can check their level of knowledge and apply the competences they have acquired. To motivate them to work on the tasks, they are designed in a varied way: Riddles, charts to complete, analysis of cartoons, etc. Occasionally, small projects are also initiated.
