ADHD is one of the most common mental health issues in children and adolescents: four to six percent of children suffer from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. For over ten years, the doctor and child and adolescent neuropsychiatrist has been working daily with children diagnosed with ADHD. Children with ADHD, who present a significant challenge both at school and at home, fascinate her because they possess fast-working brains, learn easily, but are just as quickly bored and irritated. For many parents, it becomes a real challenge to guide their children suffering from this disorder into adulthood. If we adults are unable to teach them how to optimally utilize their abilities, there is a risk that they may "lose their way" and stray off course, which can have negative consequences for their academic and social lives. There are various types of therapeutic interventions for children with ADHD: one of the most important, according to her clinical practice and experience, is parent training. This is a therapy aimed at parents, a kind of school where they can learn about the vast world of ADHD. With this book, the author aims to ease the lives of those affected by showing how they can become "special" parents of "special" children.
