This standard textbook analyses environmental problems and environmental policy from an economic perspective: It thus not only offers a comprehensible presentation of environmental economics from its microeconomic foundations to the latest research approaches, but also an orientation for the current environmental policy discussion. For the new edition, extensive updates have been made, especially with regard to the international climate protection agreement of Paris and EU emissions trading. The perspective of the economics of the use of environmental policy instruments is expanded by the inclusion of behavioural economic aspects. In addition, the effects of the use of environmental policy instruments on environmental technological progress are discussed from an economic perspective.
