Umweltmanagement für eine nachhaltige Lebensmittelentwicklung

The holistic training of professionals based on a pronounced humanistic sense, competence, culture, and commitment is a fundamental element in promoting the sustainable and future-oriented development of Cuban society and a priority for addressing environmental issues and climate change within the Ministry of Higher Education, and thus also for the Urban University Center (CUM) of Songo La Maya. In this context, special attention is given to the comprehensive education of students in agricultural sciences. However, there are currently insufficient teaching assignments and no strategy to influence environmental management for the development of sustainable food. This allows for a comprehensive education regarding measures for climate change mitigation and adaptation. The introduction of adaptation practices by small farmers in their operations and other production structures enables them to adjust to the challenges of climate change and prepare for its negative impacts.
