Umweltbewusstsein im Geschichtsunterric

The curricula for history education in Germany currently do not provide for an in-depth engagement with the goals of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). This volume aims to address this gap by offering specific teaching suggestions for various school levels, from primary to upper secondary education, to incorporate ESD into history lessons. Following a theory-oriented contribution on the impacts of the climate crisis on humanity, five articles focus on specific topics related to ecology and sustainability, as well as conspiracy narratives, and present corresponding teaching materials.
