Product details

For a long time, studies on knowledge transfer primarily focused on the transfer from headquarters to subsidiaries. However, with the development of global economic globalization, an increasing number of multinational companies are enhancing their competitiveness by integrating international resources through reverse knowledge transfer (RKT), particularly from subsidiaries in emerging markets. This contribution provides a brief overview of the relevant literature and specifically focuses on the channels, impacts, and determinants of reverse knowledge transfer from subsidiaries in emerging markets to their parent companies in developed countries. As a result of this analysis and to emphasize the importance of further research on RKT from emerging markets, this study outlines several directions for future research, such as the urgent need for empirical studies on RKT in emerging markets and in the service industry.
