Übungsbuch zur französischen Grammatik

The exercise book for French grammar complements the Practical Grammar of the French Language by Wolfgang Reumuth and Otto Winkelmann, also published by Gottfried Egert Verlag. It offers advanced French learners, particularly high school students in their final years and university students of French, selected exercises covering all important chapters of French grammar. Topics include the use of articles and pronouns, the use of tenses and moods, verb complements, adjectives, negation, indirect speech, as well as the choice of appropriate prepositions and conjunctions.

In addition to fill-in, substitution, and transformation exercises, the book contains a large number of German-French translation exercises that not only focus on a single difficulty but also touch upon several grammatical phenomena that German-speaking learners typically find challenging. To aid navigation, exercises with a higher level of difficulty are marked with an asterisk.

Each chapter of the exercise book includes references to the relevant sections of the Practical Grammar of the French Language, where the respective grammatical feature is discussed. There, the material can be studied or reviewed in a coherent manner. A key for self-study is available separately.
