Teaching materials for teachers at secondary schools, subject: German, grades 9 - 10. The PISA test repeatedly shows, just like every class test: reading competence, i.e., understanding and interpreting texts, is the key to a successful school career and professional life. In all subjects, students must be able to read, understand, and process factual texts - from word problems in mathematics to newspaper articles in politics. To help your students practice their reading skills beyond the textbook, this booklet contains numerous texts with tasks for reviewing and practicing the most important reading strategies that are also relevant for class tests (structuring texts, highlighting keywords, text analysis, reading for meaning, comprehensive reading, etc.). The topics are aligned with the subject-specific curriculum content. The texts are divided into three differentiation levels, making the material suitable for heterogeneous and inclusive classes. Topic and task examples include: analyzing stylistic devices in a text about youth language, explaining statements about justice using examples, and interpreting a chart on the topic of apprenticeships.
