Product details

The starting point of this conference volume in Open Access is the question of the conditions responsible for whether and in what form translations occur in the Early Modern period. In other words, it addresses the fundamental question of why certain texts, images, and complex signs are translated while others must remain untranslated. What factors ultimately influence the specific nature of translation as a process of transferring from one semiotic and cultural system to another, particularly in positive cases? In this context, a dual understanding of politics comes into play: on one hand, translation policies, in the sense of the concept of Translation Policy, come into focus, along with the sociocultural, economic, and intercultural influencing factors. On the other hand, it specifically concerns translations in the context of political negotiation and bargaining processes, thus addressing the relationship between Politics and Translation.
