Since January 1, 2018, a new construction contract law has been in effect, with regulations that significantly impact practice. Consequently, there is currently a great deal of uncertainty among contractors. Against this backdrop, this book aims to provide contractors with a practical overview of the new construction contract law. It briefly addresses the new regulations and then offers practical advice so that contractors can leverage the new rules to their advantage or defend themselves against unfavorable legal situations. The book discusses the crucial new regulation on the right to issue orders under Section 650b of the German Civil Code (BGB), as well as its remuneration under Section 650c BGB. Additionally, it presents other important new regulations for construction companies, architects, engineers, and developers.
