Typography

This book is the legacy of a great typographer to the cultural heritage of the present. In the post-war years, when there was hardly any visible transformation in applied arts towards a new expression adapted to the times, Emil Ruder, as one of the first pioneers, discarded all conventional rules of traditional typography and created new laws that met the demands of a new typography. This book, which has seen six editions so far, is a fundamentally new textbook upon which generations of typographers and graphic designers have built and continue to build. This book is to be regarded as an excellent manual. Furthermore, it is remarkable in its overall structure, thematic development, juxtaposition of similarities and contrasts, richness of images, and the harmoniously integrated typography.
