Product details

An algebra lecture no longer deals with linear algebra, but becomes more abstract. To help students understand this abstract material, "Tutorium Algebra", another volume in the tutorial series by the authors Modler and Kreh, has now been published, in which the two authors explain the material of algebra. The main focus is on body theory, more specifically Galois theory. The content is explained using comprehensible and detailed pre-calculated examples. The concept remains the same: Each chapter is divided into two parts: a mathematical part, which contains the definitions, theorems and proofs, and an explanatory part, in which the difficult definitions and theorems are brought to life in the usual relaxed and amusing way with more than 120 examples and around 30 illustrations. This gives the reader an eye for mathematically exact formulations on the one hand, and on the other hand provides the aids and visualisations that are important for understanding the material. In particular, the chapter on rings and ideals contains some new examples (e.g. on the ring of holomorphic functions) and the localisation of rings is dealt with. In addition, further criteria for the irreducibility of polynomials have been added.
