Product details

Angelika Landmann's grammar textbook replaces the Turkish language textbook by Herbert Jansky, which was first published in 1942 and revised by the author in 1986. It is aimed at beginners and advanced learners and is suitable for teaching in both universities and adult education centers. The level corresponds to the Common European Framework of Reference A1-B2. Since Turkish fundamentally differs in its structure from Western languages, yet is very regular, a total of 84 clear lessons are presented, organized in a sequence that reflects practical language acquisition. Initially, the grammar is explained and illustrated with tables and simple examples. Each lesson is followed by an exercise section that includes short sentences to reinforce what has been learned, as well as dialogues on everyday topics such as the culture and history of Turkey. Following the lessons, there is an answer key to the exercises, a vocabulary list for each lesson, and an alphabetical glossary. The appendix contains overviews of the Turkish suffixes covered, Turkish verb forms, as well as German subordinate clauses and their Turkish equivalents. The textbook is published in its third, revised edition.
