Werner

The terrible First World War was long over, but life for people in Germany was anything but normal. Economic and political turbulence affected daily life. Wilhelm was now married and a father. Now, his firstborn, Werner, is to shape his life. No longer tied to the small farmer milieu, he faces hardly any existential questions or needs. He stands helpless against the challenging times of National Socialism. He cannot distinguish himself or take a clear stance. He adapts too much to the general public until the realities of a brutal war catch up with him. Very late, he recognizes the backgrounds and strategies of the destructive regime. In the midst of the war, he makes a life-changing decision that will have drastic effects on his children.
