Trauma pedagogy has long established itself as an independent academic discipline. Trauma pedagogical approaches are not limited to residential youth services but are applied in various fields of work. This book, now in its fourth edition, serves as a standard work and overview of the current trauma pedagogical debate in the German-speaking world. The volume prepares the educational and neurobiological foundations for professional trauma pedagogical work and discusses the significance of psychotraumatological findings for different fields of work. The focus is on schools and youth services, the interfaces with trauma therapy, as well as gender-oriented and biographical approaches. It also presents practical concepts and methods of trauma pedagogy. From a care perspective, stabilizing principles of leadership and specialized services are outlined.
