Translations, evolution and cyberspace

Based on Darwin's theory of evolution, Michèle Kaiser-Cooke explains the dialectical relationship between theory and practice and derives the fundamental translatability of the world from it. Translation is inherent to human nature: Homo transferens is an evolutionary consequence of Homo sapiens. The connection between the insights of this evolutionary translation theory and the real practice of global communication in cyberspace is illustrated through a collaboration between educators and students at the University of Vienna.
