Artificial intelligence and its promises take command and create lifelike forms of existence. Humanity accelerates progress – and is already on the brink of its own replaceability. This volume documents encounters with avatars, learning human machines, and a talking mouse. The invited artists, Louisa Clement, Ryan Gander, Timur Si-Qin, and Jordan Wolfson, all belong to a generation that has grown up in a digital world. They reflect in their biographies as well as in their work the increasing spheres of power of virtual possibilities.
