Growing up between Swiss fears of foreign influence and diasporic nostalgia: "second-generation Indians" have little narrative for their experience of multiple belonging. Rohit Jain traces how these "impossible" subjects invent new life designs amidst assimilatory racism and commodity-based recognition in Switzerland and the diasporic spaces of a liberalized India.
