Film and Education - Manuel Zahn explores this still unresolved relationship in his studies. In relation to current media theoretical, aesthetic, and educational discourses, he develops a differential theoretical concept of the mediality of film and introduces a method called "tracing" that enables a sensitivity to differences in the empirical study of film. Using film examples, the method of tracing is tested, and a concept of film education is outlined that understands the tracing of films as an educational experience, as it allows for the consideration of the subject's engagement with films against the backdrop of the impossibility of their identifying appropriation.
