Product details
A powerful healthcare system relies on the contributions of traditional medical systems, such as Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Ayurveda from India, Traditional Tibetan Medicine (TTM), as well as European approaches. In terms of rediscovery, Traditional European Naturopathy (TEM) or Traditional European Natural Healing (TEN), as it is preferred to be called in Switzerland and by certain authors, is the youngest addition that has now come of age. In recent decades, pioneering work has been done, particularly through books published by Bacopa Verlag. TEM/TEN is back! It is being embraced by naturopaths, doctors, masseurs, and therapists; associations, academies, institutes, and centers have emerged; there is a growing resonance in the public and in the media.
TEM stands at an important threshold: it is currently networking across Europe (Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Italy, France, Czech Republic, etc.). It is making its voice heard and gaining influence. Figuratively speaking, one could say that TEM/TEN is on the rise. However, before the flight begins, it is advisable to take stock and examine future prospects – an exciting task that this volume addresses. With this foundational reflection, the book is aimed at all TEM enthusiasts from any field, from professionals to laypersons.
In the first part, prominent representatives of TEM provide insights to illuminate the current state and possibilities from their perspectives. In the second section, recognized representatives reflect on various facets of TEM, covering a wide range of areas (including pediatric care, massage, healthy movement, etc., and not just herbal medicine). The third chapter focuses on central application areas of TEM in therapy, in the medical field, at home, in pharmacies, and finally in the realm of spa centers and clinics. The volume is rounded off by a fourth section that addresses various contexts.
